Our exciting new term

Hello Harriet and Amelia here!
This term so far has been great, we have already has 2 school trips and our May fayre.

Tuesday 26th April- our first day back at school.
On Tuesday we were getting ready for our French pen pals to come over.

Wednesday 27th April- Going lambing.
On Wednesday morning the whole school went to Ipsden to go and watch lambing. When we got there the farmer spoke to us and told us that all of his sheep had lambed so we couldn't see them in the sheds, but instead we had a walk around Ipsden and his fields. We had our own Tour de France and Grace and Storm had the fastest time so they won a yellow t-shirt certificate.

Monday 2nd May- May Fayre!
On Monday South Stoke had their May Fayre. We Maypole danced and met our french penpals. I (Amelia) was this years May Queen and got crowned May Queen after the french penpals and south stoke school did a dance. There was a big raffle, ice cream, pet corner, swan ride, lucky dip, cake stall, pimms stall and and bird stall and many more. The May Fayre was a huge success with Morris men and everyone else, and thank you to all the people who helped out and run the stalls. We did several maypole dances and the french pen pals and their adults did some traditional french mountain dances.

Tuesday 3rd May-Blue, white and red day
On Tuesday we met our French pen pals and we had to dress up in the colours of the French flag. The French made a presentation for us and we made a presentation for them. In the afternoon we all had a treasure hunt around South Stoke. Afterwards everyone went home and then some came back at 5pm for a BBQ to welcome the French pen pals.

Wednesday 4th May- Our trip to London
On Wednesday we went to London with our Penpals. We had Mr Goss (Harriet's dad) as our tour guide. We saw Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the Gherkin, St paul's catherdral, London eye, we went across tower bridge. We saw the river Thames, Marble arch, London tower and lots more. We ate our lunch next to the Houses of Parliament. We dropped our french penpals off at the train station so that they could go back to France. We said our goodbyes and then made our way back to South Stoke.

We have had an amazing couple of weeks. Thanks to everyone who helped make it this way especially our Parent's association for all their hard work.

Au revoir!

Bye for now Harriet and Amelia
